- Sick & Covid Leave
Learners requiring planned sick leave or medical absence must inform the College of the intended absence as soon as possible.
It is learners’ responsibility to keep the College informed on the first day of sickness and each day subsequently thereafter. Learners who are sick should not attend class especially when there is a risk to the health of others. It is the learners responsibility to inform the college of all absences at the earliest possible and no later than the following week of the absence.
It is only by providing a medical certificate of absence that a learner can get Justified Absence. All medical certificates must be provided in a timely manner – i.e the same week. Late medical certificates may not be accepted. The college can request originals to be presented and reserves the right to have documents verified for authenticity.
Providing fake documents and/or medical certificates may render a learner liable to immediate expulsion.
Learners who miss class due to injury or illness must obtain a medical certificate or note from their IRISH medical provider. The medical certificate or note must contain the date and time of the illness and the medical professional’s confirmation of needed absence. It is the learner’s responsibility to provide the College with all relevant documentation in a timely manner.
